For Norwegian Contractors (a multi-national company involved in the development and building of off-shore oil or gas platforms) I developed a variety of logos for different drilling or production platforms, i.e. the "Gulfaks B" a rig named after a mythical dragon or Viking ship, a concept was developed using the dragon symbol; this was used for t-shirts and assorted promotional items for the rigs. A logo was also developed for a joint Norwegian/Russian oil venture in the North Sea called Bocconor. Christmas cards were designed for the company as well as logos and heads for their semi-annual newsletters and annual reports. I dealt directly with the manager of the marketing and public affairs department in Oslo, Norway.

Major responsibilities were to create artistic and graphic designs for various types of park brochures and government reports, including the complete design, layout and illustration of Alberta wilderness area brochures. Duties included preparation of sketches, drawings and artwork for park master concept and development plans; resource inventory and zoning plans; artwork and design for brochures, books and reports; drawings and artwork oral and audio-visual reports, and reference material for public presentations and meetings. I was also responsible for drafting and cartographic duties of a moderately complex to a very complex nature. I liaised with other government and public agencies as required, and assisted other technical units as required. I checked the work of others in the graphics unit. I gathered and distributed information for Parks related projects; dealing directly with the client and referring to the unit supervisor only on new or difficult assignments.

At Inkit Graphics I was responsible for bringing a wide range of design work, art and illustrative material from concept to completion. Projects were done for private companies and well as various departments of the Northwest Territorial Government. Projects ranged form detailed wildlife illustrations to designing training manuals and illustrating educational books. Video graphics were conceived and prepared for the use of the local cable station; a logo and promotional package were produced for the City of Yellowknife. Graphics were designed for company logos, letterheads, brochures, pamphlets, posters, bumper stickers and display advertising. I dealt directly with the clients to determine what visual material would best meet their needs, and handled liaison with printers and other outside organizations. Yellowknife, N. W.T., CanadaWhile at Tundra I was responsible for all stages of darkroom and silkscreen production. Darkroom responsibilities included working with enlargers, line cameras, developing film, shooting PMT's, developing image and transfer material. As the printer I prepared the screens for printing, ordered inks and film as required, kept inventory, organized the production shop and did the actual printing of the posters, signs and t-shirts. I provided technical and artistic assistance in the completion of new museum displays for the south wing of the museum. I prepared sketches, drawings, artwork, maps and diagrams to be used in visual displays; designed and printed posters for public presentations and assisted the curator in relative projects and silkscreen production for the permanent displays.
