FCF Sponsor Tips

Summer is about upon us. Time for getting prospective FCF inductees
ready for testing. Here is a list of tips I culled from a previous newletter.
Phase I:
1. Determine that the candidate has completed all prerequisites.
2. Fill out the application and send it to the scribe. (include sponsor’s
name)
3. Cover the following topics with the candidate so he can study and
prepare himself: tool craft, lashing, Bible, outpost organization, map
and compass, rope craft, first aid, uniform, fire craft, cooking, misc.
4. Pretest or quiz the candidate by asking questions and have him demonstrate
his abilities in preparation for Phase I. (DO NOT use Phase I test sheet!)
5. Pretest or quiz areas that the candidate had problems with.
6. Make sure the candidate is completely prepared for Phase I. 7. Provide
transportation to Phase I. 8. Be present to support your candidate at his
Phase I.
Phase II:
1. Assist the candidate in the prerequisites for Phase II. Encourage
him to send in the Phase II fees and a copy of his passing letter immediately
to the scribe.
2. Encourage the candidate in the days or weeks prior to the Phase
II. He should look forward to participating in the Phase II Frontier Adventure.
3. Make sure the candidate has all his items for Phase II as listed
in the Phase II invitation letter.
4. Provide or arrange transportation for the candidate to the Phase
II Frontier Adventure.
5. Be present at Phase II to support your candidate.
6. Make or trade a love gift to share with the new Frontiersman.
7. Be prepared with food items to share at the Friendship Breakfast.
