Lodestone the Scribner

Pow Wow is breathing down our necks. Are you ready? (Me neither.) But I’m looking forward to seeing the improvements made on Ranger Mountain for this year. I also hope to be a part of making them happen. I wasn’t able to attend the work weekend May 16 but I plan to go up for Powwow early to work. I encourage any of you who can to do the same. I always find that to be a rewarding time; a time of honest, hard work, a time of quiet reflection and prayer, a time of fellowship among men I don’t get to see often enough.

I hope you all have liked the newsletters lately. I’d like to take this opportunity to put in another plea for news pieces, informative articles, devotional material, even opinion pieces for the newsletter. This is our tool for communication among all of us. Let me know about the important events in your outposts or other news of interest to other members. Or maybe you discovered the near-perfect technique for maintaining discipline in ranger meetings. Please share!

For my part, I’m looking for ways I can be a better scribe. Toward that end, I have begun contacting scribes from chapters across the country, asking about their newsletters and offering to exchange ideas.

Finally, don’t forget to take advantage of the events being offered this summer. National Canoe Expedition is slated for later in August. Or if you need NTC to make Wilderness, check into it now.
