From the President's Hand

Dear FCF members:
It looks as if Summer is right around the corner, with all the usual
activities such as mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, and cleaning out
the garage. This is also the time of year we need to start taking a look
at Pow Wow activities. I just came home from a trip to Ranger Mountain
to check out the cement work for the new water tower that will go up the
weekend of May 16th. Please pray that all goes well with this phase of
the project. I did see some more winter damage to the FCF fence. It's just
about all on the ground now. We need to have a couple work weekends up
on the mountain to fix things up. We will need about 30 2x6s, a box of
16 penny nails, and 13 treated poles to finish the fence. As for the rest
of the camp, it looked real good. Carolyn and I saw a mother bear with
two cubs at the bottom of the first big long hill. What a sight! It was
great! I just hope they don't come to dinner at Pow Wow.
I would like to share my heart with you for a minute. As most of you
know, Pow Wow has generally been a time when we concentrate on the spiritual
needs of the boys. Over the past couple of years, I've noticed a need for
us to reach out to the men as well. With this in mind, I am asking for
help from a couple of our members who would be willing to stay back at
the evening services and pray with the men who need prayer and encouragement.
We will still need many men praying with the boys, but I believe we will
miss the boat if we do not minister to all who attend Pow Wow. As always,
be in pray during the evening services and allow the Holy Spirit to guide
you to the boy or man He would have you minister to.
We will need a couple of skits each night from FCF, so put on your
thinking caps and see what you can come up with. It would be nice if we
had one with just the Young Bucks and one with a mix of Old Timers and
Young Bucks. If you want to help in this area, let me know right away.
There is just one last thing I would like to mention. As some of you
know, I lost my capote and blowing horn at Pow Wow last year. It had been
in the store after an evening service. It was nowhere to be found the next
day, which was Sunday. When I left the mountain, I thought maybe it was
in the bottom of my trunk after all. While we were up on the mountain this
past weekend, I looked in the store again. I found my capote outside on
the ground, shoved behind some lumber beside the store. It had been out
in the weather and is beyond repair. I feel bad that instead of leaving
my capote in the store where it would be safe from the weather, the person
who took it and obviously didn't want it, left it outside to be ruined.
My blowing horn was gone, which I feel real bad about. I just want to remind
you to protect your belongings, as well as keep an eye out for anyone who
does not belong in the store or FCF village.
