The Montana District of Royal Rangers is pleased to announce that National Commander Richard Marriot will be the special guest speaker at the annual commanders’ conference.
With a major rewrite of the Royal Ranger program in the works, controversy has abounded regarding the general direction that rangers is headed. Ranger leaders across the nation have expressed concern about various aspects subject to revision, from uniform changes to changes in the advancement trail. Cmdr. Marriot has been touring the districts sharing his vision for rangers, listening to leaders and answering their questions. He will be able to shed more light upon what is in the offing for rangers. All commanders and lieutenant commanders are encouraged to attend so they will have a chance to hear Cmdr. Marriot in person, fellowship with other commanders and glean important knowledge.
Details about the Roy Ran Derby will be available. Now called Derby Fever, the wooden car competition has undergone some changes that will be sure to be noticed.
Also slated for discussion at the conference will be information on
Ranger Mountain Adventure, Challengers and more.
The conference is scheduled for Friday, February 18, 2000 at the Holiday
Inn in Great Falls. The conference will run from nine a.m. until five p.m.
The HonorBound Men’s Retreat will begin that night and continue through
the weekend.
