Frontiersmen Companion Fellowship

Just as Promise Keepers has seen the advent of an adjunct group of PK wives whose goal is to support their PK husbands, so it is with FCF.

Frontiersmen Companion Fellowship was started in Pen Florida district of FCF several years ago, by women, for women and their families. Since then, chapters have started in Alabama and S. E. Spanish district; North Carolina Pentecostal Holiness is even interested in forming a chapter.

According to S. Florida FCF Companions president, Andrea ‘Andy’ Knepper, “Our purpose is to bring the family together. We have activities for all ages. . . . We do not try to infringe on the FCF fellows with their traces etc., we have our own events 2 times a year and invite the fellows to ours. It is working out nicely and we have about 40 women members plus all their families.”

She also says, “One thing we practice and we stress is that the Companions work hand in hand with the FCF fellows. Our FCF Pres, Vice Pres and Scribe, know every move we make and plan and are in agreement 100%. This is so important we cannot stress it enough. We are not trying to take off on our own and do it OUR way.”

According the the handbook, membership in FCF Companions is restricted to wives of FCF men. A call-out ceremony involving the woman’s husband begins her Companions membership. The woman advances as her husband advances.

What does FCF National President, Fred Deaver have to say about FCF Companions? Nothing. He is aware of the group--his wife spoke at length about it with Andy Knepper--but apparently hasn’t commented.

So will the Companions ever be recognized nationally? Andy doesn’t think so but she is still grateful for Frontiersmen Companion Fellowship. “...now FCF has a family group.”
